11 Year Old Speyside
Fully matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, mahogany in colour and displaying a good bead. On the nose we detected rich aromas of sultanas, kirsch, dark chocolate, and bread and butter pudding with homemade marmalade, with a spine of oily rags and cordite. On the palate we found chocolate coated pretzels, Black Forest Gateux, beef jus. A Canadian breakfast of maple syrup, buttery pancakes and smoked bacon! A lengthy finish with a hint of struck match in the background.
