Drawn from a refill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead this is amber in colour and displays good beading. On the nose we discover Lipton’s Peach Iced Tea, crisp Shloer soda, mint humbugs, cola bottles and chocolate digestive biscuits. Palate-wise we have savoury beurre noisette, Werther’s Originals, ripe apricot, poached pears and mint leaf.
Drawn from a first-fill American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrel, this is the colour of summer gold with a moderate bead. On the nose we found Campino sweets, floral notes, apple skin, candied lemon peel and eau de vie. This is backed up on the palate by robust texture, bitter almonds, cream soda, biscotti and vibrant grapefruit peel. Finishing with a slight saltiness, an atypical Mortlach which surprises and delights.
Drawn from a first-fill American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrel, the colour of Chardonnay and a moderate bead. On the nose we found brandy butter, orange peel, rice pudding, marmalade, barley sugar and papaya. The palate is initially sweet with sugared almonds, fruit cocktail juice, coconut tray bake, hazelnuts. A multi-layered dram with lovely confectionary notes.
Fully matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, the colour is mahogany with a good bead. On the nose we found Soreen malt loaf, blackberries, cherries, hedgerows, cloves, Vegemite, and yeast extract. On the palate we discovered Scandinavian salted liquorice, cassis, cacao nibs, chocolate fudge cake, and treacle. A luscious and decadent finish.
Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry butt this has the colour of copper with a moderate bead. The nose delivered lemon drizzle cake, almost posset, profiteroles, nougat & crème anglaise with ripe and juicy sultanas. On the taste we found macerated red fruit, dark chocolate, becoming oilier (typical of make) almost savory like Bovril and salted fudge.
Drawn from a refill American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrel, this displays a delicate straw colour and a very good bead. On the nose we have juicy honeydew melon, freshly cut grapes, lemon verbena, cooling Fox’s Glacier mints, macaroon bars and a final flourish of germolene. In the mouth we have a mellow combination of tangy Refreshers, bay leaf, burnt hay and damp hessian, enveloped with lingering embers.
Drawn from a refill American Oak PX Sherry Hogshead, golden syrup in colour with good beading. On the nose we have root ginger, orange blossom, fruit salad sweets, pineapple upside-down cake, oyster-shell and dockside brine. On the palate we have white peach, mandarin, salted milk chocolate, and Bavarian smoked cheese. Earthy and turfy with soft, billowing smoke. An exceptionally complex, layered whisky which is surprisingly bright for it’s age.
Drawn from an Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, old oak in colour, with an excellent bead. On the nose we have underripe pear, cedar wood, gammon studded with cloves, cigar box, fresh leather. On the palate we open with pink grapefruit before moving to jamon Iberico, honey roasted cashew nuts, thyme, rosemary, roast pork and apple sauce. Very moreish.
Fully matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, mahogany in colour and displaying a good bead. On the nose we detected rich aromas of sultanas, kirsch, dark chocolate, and bread and butter pudding with homemade marmalade, with a spine of oily rags and cordite. On the palate we found chocolate coated pretzels, Black Forest Gateux, beef jus. A Canadian breakfast of maple syrup, buttery pancakes and smoked bacon! A lengthy finish with a hint of struck match in the background.
Drawn from a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, showing moderate beading and the colour of cola. The nose is brimming with golden syrup, chocolate ice cream, Moroccan Tagine spices, stewed apricot, sage and peppermint tea. A rooftop meal in the medina. On the palate there is distinct sea salt, a whiff of leather, cola cubes, macerated cherries and biltong. A slight menthol finish.
Drawn from a refill American oak sherry hogshead with a lovely colour of copper & a moderate bead. On the nose we found bircher muesli, fruit salad with glacé cherries, Eau de vie de pomme, plums and a hint of hazelnut oil. The palate gave us hobnob biscuits, peaches, granny smith apples, pencil shavings and custard slice. A multilayered dram especially with the addition of water.

This is the 5th Glover in the series and all derives from 1st fill bourbon barrels. 2 from AD & 2 from Chichibu. This whisky has a lovely colour of summer gold. On the nose we found honeycomb, melon, clementine, panatone, flaky almonds & Sour Plooms. The palate delivers a great balance of pineapple cake, mandarin and barley juice & lemon bonbons. Becoming maritime with a light peat smoke to finish, very moreish.
Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry butt this has a copper burnish with moderate beading. On the nose we found crème caramel, strawberry fromage frais, banana fritters and cheesecake topped with tinned lychees. The palate gave us Murray Mints, salted caramel ice cream with homemade chocolate chip cookies. Blackcurrants and warm banana loaf on the finish.
Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry hogshead this has the colour of amber with an excellent bead. On the nose we found orange matchmakers, oranges marinated and flambéed in Grand Marnier with a hint of nutmeg and brandy butter. On the palate we found the bottom of an alcoholic trifle, chocolate thins, star anise & cinnamon. A mouth coating palate which leaves you wanting more.
Drawn from a 1st fill Oloroso sherry hogshead this has the colour of old oak and has an good bead. The nose takes us to a chocolate shop, we found Kinder Bueno, Highland Toffee, Curly Wurly bars, red & black currants, maraschino cherries and cheap chocolate ice-cream. The palate delivers praline, cola cubes, chocolate covered pretzels, medjool dates and a touch of eucalyptus. A luscious & moreish dram.
Drawn from a 1st fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, this has the colour of mahogany and has an excellent bead. On the nose we found bacon Frazzles crisps, hospital corridors, TCP, cheese rind, gammon steak with bbq sauce, Kilpatrick oysters, tabasco, cooked pears in chocolate sauce and Kahlua (Espresso Martini. The palate is rich & round with flavours of crispy bacon rind, cloves, cardamom, hot sand, pork scratchings, rockpools. Teeth coating and velvety whisky finishing sooty and ashy.
Drawn from a French oak barrique this has an inviting colour of copper. On the nose we found toffee apples, top of a crème brulée, potpourri, scented candles and rum & raisin ice-cream – quite perfumed. The palate is big with even bigger mouthfeel of kirsch, parma violets, nectarines and posh home-made marmalade. The finish is long, sweet and satisfying.
A fantastic colour of colafrom a very active 1st fill ex-Oloroso butt. We also noted an excellent bead, this is a very decadent dram. On the nose we found molasses, chocolate fudge cake,old dunnage warehouse and meat jus;also slightly earthy. The palate gave us a rich mouthfeel with chocolate ganache, steak pie, Medjool dates and chocolate almonds. An extremely long and satisfying finish.
A rare older bottling from this famous Island, the Jura has a lovely colour of old oak and having spent its life in a refill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. On the nose we found space hoppers, window putty and oodles of marzipan, fruitcake, Nutella and rice pudding, with syrup and a fair amount of funk. The palate delivers Underberg bitters, juicy sultanas, sugared almonds, Stolen cake with clove syrup, and finishing herbaceous.
Drawn from a 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt, this has the colour ofmahogany and has an excellent bead. On the nose we found chocolate brownies that have been left in the oven for too long, ginger snaps and a steak peppercorn sauce. The palate delivers a massive mouthfeel, great texture with beach bonfire, streaky bacon, old leather and a surprisingly savouryfinish. Very unusual for the make and region.
A colour of lemon gold with a very good bead, this Caol ila was drawn from a refill ex-Bourbon hogshead. On the nose we found old dairy farms, lemon curd, salty rockpools, freshy shucked oysters and Old Amsterdam cheese rind. The taste delivered vanilla, kiln fire, coconut biscuits and smoked kippers with lemon peel.
Drawn from a refill ex PX Sherry butt, this has thecolour of Lion’s golden syrup with a medium bead. On the nose there is freshly popped popcorn, peaches, nectarines, gingerbread, orange peel, grapefruit juice and breakfast fruit salad. On the taste we found a lovely oily texture, Butterkist toffee popcorn, mint Matchmakers and overripe banana. A well-balanced dram with a pleasantly drying finish.
Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry butt,this whisky hasthe vibrant colour of sandlewood with little bead – the latter normally associated with high-strength filling such as this. On the nose is Walls chocolate ice-cream with vanilla sponge cake, milk chocolate digestives and fresh feijoas. The palate gave us salted caramel truffles, Black Forest Gateaux and a slightly meaty finish.The finish is long and leaves the tongue tingling.
